My husband and I had our wedding at Rocky’s Resort on 2nd January 2010. It is THE most magical place we have ever stayed. The staff are exceptional. Rio Rose, the wedding co-ordinator, took care of everything. Initially we were very nervous booking the entire wedding over the internet via e-mails. There was no need to be, Rio kept us up-to-date on all of the the arrangements – we knew we were in good hands. When we arrived at the airport, we were picked up by Rocky’s porter and transferred in a beautiful air-conditioned mini bus and given cold mint towels to refresh after our flight and cold bottles of water. Once we arrived at Rocky’s, we were greeted with more cold towels and fruit cocktails – with the heat this was really appreciated! Rio showed us around the resort and gave us our itinerary for the week. She talked us through our legal documents – she had arranged for us to meet her representative in Bangkok a few weeks prior to the wedding and we then went off travelling while the representative had the documents processed and translated.

We met with the DJ, Registrar, Celebrant and Priest over the next few days. Rio arranged for my dress to be pressed in time for the big day. She really thought of absolutely everything! On the morning of the wedding, we and our close family members headed off to Nathon, the main town, and were married in the gorgeous little Catholic Church. We were then taken back to Rockys in the fancy jeep and had lunch. Then the fun began, the beach blessing was scheduled for 4.30pm and we had 41 guests attending! The hairdresser attended to my hair and my bridesmaid’s hair. We were thrilled, she did exactly as we wanted, we just showed her pictures and she worked her magic! The beach ceremony began at 5pm – the tide was high that day after the full moon so it was better to wait for the extra half hour. It was absolutely everything we could have imagined and more. Then we had superb canapes and sparkling wine. The beach was decorated beautifully and the food and the flowers were amazing! The photographer was very good – we were given a photo album and a CD of all 300 of our photos. We chose to eat in the banquet room despite deciding on a beach BBQ whilst still in Ireland. The staff and DJ recommended this and we are so glad we took their advice – the air conditioning was very welcoming given the immense heat! DJ Blair was super and managed to please everyone – all age groups. Poon and Oop were fantastic too and even joined in with the dancing and fireworks.

We would definitely recommend Rocky’s Resort if you are getting married – or if you are visiting the area for holidays, it is indeed a very nice resort, the staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble and the food is lovely too. The rooms are amazing – just absolutely gorgeous. Quite a few of our guests were travelling around Thailand for a month or so and each and every one of them loved Rocky’s and were quick to point out that it was the nicest hotel they had stayed in. It is a short 5 minute taxi ride from the main Lamai beach centre.
We stayed in Thailand for our honeymoon too – I would highly recommend Koh Lanta and Phi Phi Island. Both Islands are a lot quieter than Koh Samui. Stay clear of Patong in Phuket – full of sleazy bars, MacDonalds and Starbucks – awful!
We are returning to Khao Lak for our first anniversary and would love to go to stay in Rocky’s – perhaps next Summer.

We loved Rocky’s Resort so much, and as I must have told at least 100 people since we got back, everything about the wedding and our stay at Rocky’s was perfect!! There is not a thing that I would change and I can’t give them all a big enough thank you. Everyone of the staff at Rocky’s made not just our, but all of our guests stay too, very special indeed. The friendly smiles, attentive care and luxurious surroundings were absolutely wonderful and we have missed it all since the moment we left. I wish we could be back there now. Special mentions must go to the amazing job that Rio does. She manages to pull together wonderful day, after wonderful day for the weddings that they host and it is an impressive feat. Special mentions also must be given to Noi, Pooh and Mike whom all offered us an amazing level of service and care, and whom are all wonderful people. We will definitely be coming back to Rockys again and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

We have just got back from Rocky’s resort, what an experience, my daughter got married there. It was a great occasion, the staff were wonderful and always on hand to do everything for you. The wedding was in the garden, all decorated with beautiful flowers and Thai girls danced after the ceremony. I would definitely recommend Rocky’s for a wedding if you decide to get married abroad.

Rocky’s has been one of the best holidays we have ever had. The staff are brilliant and can’t do enough to ensure you enjoy your stay. Rio and her crew were also wonderful with arranging our wedding. Everything was perfect and better than we had imagined. My whole family could not image our wedding being any different and everyone had a fantastic time. I would recommend Rocky’s to anyone.

My daughter’s wedding was held at Rockys on 7/10/09. It was a fabulous day, everything went beautifully thanks to Rio and all Rockys wonderful staff. Everyone who attended thoroughly enjoyed the whole event. I also stayed for three days at Rockys, the rooms are large, well maintained and beautifully decorated, the staff very friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning to Rockys in the future.

I started looking for the perfect place to have my wedding 12 months ago and found the Rocky’s web page. I contacted them for some information and within 2 days I was contacted with a lot of helpful information. The Wedding Coordinator, Rio, kept in touch with me regularly and instead of bombarding me with all the options, gave me something new to look at each month – it was easy and stress free which is perfect for someone who has a busy job. I felt like I didn’t have to do anything, the wonderful staff at Rocky’s made sure everything was perfect from the flowers to my family being looked after and even to no rain and a perfect sunset for our special day. The staff even arranged for all of the girls to go to a wonderful day spa and for all the guys to go on a fishing trip – nothing was ever a problem at Rocky’s. The food for our wedding dinner was devine and the photos from the photographer arranged by Rocky’s turned out brilliant.

The staff and management were always talking to us and giving us helpful tips of places to go and see and other places to eat. To be honest, we enjoyed to food and service better at Rocky’s than the other places we went to. We enjoyed just sitting back and relaxing and trying the cocktails! We will definitely go back to Rocky’s.

9/7/09 – The Best wedding!! Rocky\’s was The perfect place to get married. All of the hard working Staff were fantastic and the setting on the beach was absolutely beautiful. The meals were divine and the Resort as a whole was more than we could have imagined. We would recommend anyone to have their special day at Rocky\’s as it was one we will never forget!!

We chose Rockys resort for our wedding and could not have picked better, it is paradise. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and comfortable, all of the staff knew who we were and as ours was the only wedding that month we got a sense of excitement from all. The resort, the rooms, the restaurant and service from the staff could not be faulted.
Our wedding day was perfect. What can I say about Rio that has not been said before. She made our special day more wonderful than even we had expected. She is a genuinely lovely person who loves what she does and goes to great lengths to make sure her wedding couples are completely happy with everything! What more can one ask for. Rio takes away any concerns you may have from the minute you meet her. Nothing is too much trouble for her or for any of the other staff at Rockys. Some of the things that I had forgotten during the planning were sorted by Rio to ensure everything went smoothly. To a man our guests were stunned by how beautiful the setting and the ceremony were. Carter was fantastic and his guidance and suggestions helped to make the day even more special. The photographer supplied by Rockys was great, we barely noticed that he was there, yet 4 days later we received an album and disc full of really great shots of the day.
We had the best time and will definitely return to Rockys in the future.
For anyone planning to marry overseas, do not look further than Rockys resort, you will not be disappointed!
